OMAHA (KMTV) — OHIO STATE 52 NEBRASKA 17 FINAL
The Huskers got on the board first with a ten yard touchdown run by Adrian Martinez to make it 7-0 Nebraska.
Luke McCaffrey set up the score with a 47 yard run. The drive went four plays for 75 yards in 1:51.
The Buckeyes answered with a 1 yard touchdown run by Master Teague. OSU converted a 4th & 5 on the drive from the Nebraska's 30.
After the Huskers had to punt, Ohio State took its first lead with a 42 yard touchdown pass from Justin Fields to Garrett Wilson.
In the 2nd quarter, NU evened things up at 14 with a three yard touchdown run by Dedrick Mills. The drive went 11 plays for 78 yards and took 5:17 off the clock.
OSU retook the lead with a 34 yard field goal late in the half to make it 17-14.. Following a Husker punt, Master Teague put the Buckeyes up ten, 24-14.
Ohio State scored on its first drive of the 2nd half on a 17 yard touchdown run by Fields to go up 31-17.
It looked like the Huskers might respond but Adrian Martinez fumbled and Sevyn Banks recovered for the Buckeyes and took it back 55 yards for another Ohio State touchdown.
NU defensive backs Cam Taylor-Britt & Deontai Williams were both ejected in the 2nd half for targeting and will now also miss the first half of the Huskers home opener on Halloween against Wisconsin.
Nebraska is without wide receiver Omar Manning and linebacker Luke Reimer, neither of whom made the trip to Columbus.
