November Weather Preview

After a mild start to the month, what's next?
Posted

It was a mild start to November in Omaha, with Eppley Airfield topping out at 62 degrees. That's above the average high of 57 for November 1st. As fall continues, we will see a roller coaster of temperatures, dropping us below average at times, before climbing back above at times.

But looking at the month as a whole, Omaha sees an average high of 49 degrees and starts the day with an average low of 29.

Snow starts to become a little more common in November with an average of 2.5 inches. The rain bucket picks up just over 1.6 inches for the month.

The Climate Prediction Center (CPC) thinks we may not be too far off of those numbers this year.

For rain and snow, the CPC's November outlook puts us under a slight chance for seeing wetter than average conditions.

The CPC also gives us a slight chance for below average temperatures, but that is a little more likely to our south. The warmer weather looks to stay along the west and east coasts.

At the end of the day, it's November, a month of transition, so be ready for just about anything.
