OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A Women's Health fair is scheduled in South Omaha on October 25.

The event will be held at the Latino Center of the Midlands located near 24th and M Streets from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In support of all survivors, and those who have lost a loved one due to breast cancer, specifically within the Hispanic community, CHI Health, CHI Hola, Methodist Health, Susan G. Komen and the Latino Center of the Midlands have partnered to create the first Breast Cancer Awareness Event in Spanish to cater to Omaha's Spanish-speaking population.

According to the American Cancer Society, cancer is the leading cause of death among Hispanics, accounting for nearly 21 percent of death year. Among those statistics, Breast Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among Hispanic women.

The event will offer free 3D mammograms and programming on health awareness and prevention. CHI's Dr. Eduardo Herrera, an OB-GYN will be a guest speaker from 11 a.m. - noon to discuss women's health.

Free transportation will be provided for attendees who need it. Transportation can be scheduled with the Latino Center of the Midlands at 402-733-2720.
