Amazon currently has a promotion for students as they start to descend upon university campuses around the country. Those who spend $100 or more on textbooks sold by Amazon can get 10% off their purchase (with a maximum savings of $50).

We all know students need every discount they can get!

There are some restrictions associated with the deal, though. Books have to be bought in one purchase and shipped to the same place at the same speed. So, start planning out exactly what you’ll need to order.

Textbooks must also be sold directly by Amazon and cannot be from a third-party seller. So, when you’re shopping, look for “sold by Amazon” on the product detail page.

There are a few things that won’t qualify for this deal, such as digital content, subscriptions and rentals.

This Amazon offer is good through Sept. 22. To receive the discount, enter the promo code TEXT10 at checkout.

And here’s a delightful bonus tip: The discount will work with other books, not just textbooks. So, even if you’re not a student, you can clear out your reading wishlist before Sept. 22 and save 10%.

This promotion should come as a relief for many students because, man, textbooks are costly!

Take a look at this textbook for radiology students: “Bontrager’s Textbook of Radiographic Positioning and Related Anatomy” is rentable at $29.44. But the hardcover version will cost you $123.95.

That’s just one book for one class! College is expensive, so go get your 10% Amazon discount while you can.

Just remember, there is only one use per customer with this promo code.

Amazon also has a textbook trade-in program, so take advantage of that at the end of the semester!

Another way students can save is by signing up for Amazon Prime Student. You’ll get a six-month trial for free, courtesy of Sprint, if you have never had it before.

After the six months, Amazon Prime Student costs $6.49 per month. There’s no contract, so you can cancel at any time.

Amazon Prime Student members get exclusive deals on all sorts of other products, too, including your much-needed tech stuff such as laptops and headphones.

Best of luck to all the students heading back to campus this fall!
