Man sentenced to 15 months for animal cruelty

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Shane Palmer, 44, was sentenced Wednesday in Douglas County Court to 15 months in prison for animal cruelty.

Palmer starved two pit bulls to death, according to the Nebraska Humane Society, and discarded of the dogs down an embankment near his house.

NHS conducted a necropsy and determined the dogs starved to death. The Metro Fugitive Task Force served an arrest warrant, which was obtained by investigators with the humane society.

Palmer was arrested in February.
