One dead after Highway 75 crash

BELLEVUE, Neb. (KMTV) — A crash on Highway 75 early Sunday left 30-year-old Matthew Sharon dead after being ejected from a vehicle.

At approximately 1:40 a.m., first responders from Bellevue Fire and the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office were made aware of a crash on Highway 75.

Investigation shows a the Dodge Journey, driven by Sharon, was heading southbound on Highway 75 near Fairview Road when it departed the roadway, entering into the center median of the highway. The vehicle rolled and ejected Sharon.

A GMC Sierra truck, driven by 38-year-old Justin Kirk, was also heading southbound on the highway. Kirk's vehicle struck Sharon as he was laying in the roadway, according to authorities.

Sharon was the only person transported for medical care from the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
