Douglas County announces three more coronavirus cases, eighth death

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - The Douglas County Health Department announced three more coronavirus cases and an additional death on Thursday.

The latest cases involve two men and one woman who range in age from less than a year old to their 50s. One of the cases is hospitalized.

One new case had contact to a known case while the other two remain under investigation. There has now been 266 coronavirus cases in the county.

The death was a man in his 70s who had multiple underlying health conditions. He's the eighth coronavirus case in the county.

The county health department continues to urge people to wear masks and limit visits to senior living facilities unless absolutely necessary.

The county health department's information line is open daily at (402) 444-3400 from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Nebraska DHHS COVID-19 information line is open from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. at (402) 552-6645. Calls are taken 24 hours a day at the United Way’s 2-1-1 Information Line.
