Aubrey Trail, the accused killer of Sydney Loofe, pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges one day after it court records showed prosecutors would seek the death penalty.
Loofe was first reported missing by her family on Nov. 16, 2017, and parts of her body were found on Dec. 4. Trail has previously said he was responsible for her death but it was an accident.
Trail's attorneys say they still have a lot of evidence to go through and a lot of the story has not been told to the public. He will be back in court on Aug. 20.
