BELLEVUE, Neb. (KMTV) - — You may have seen this viral video all over social media. Trey Payne teaches "Living" at Logan Fontenelle Middle School in Bellevue.
He recently had his pair of KD 12's stolen. When his students heard about it, they got together and bought him a brand new pair. They surprised him with them on Tuesday.
That gesture of kindness meant more to Payne than his students realized.
"The shoes didn't matter to me. The shoes don't really matter. It's not about shoes, and I hope everybody understands that,” he said. “It's about showing somebody that they chose the right career field. That they are true in their path. It validated me."
Since the video was posted, Payne has been getting texts from all across the country.
