ASHLAND, Neb. (KMTV) — Neal Shepherd is celebrating his first birthday Tuesday at Camp Ashland, where he and his parents are currently under quarantine as a precaution due to the coronavirus.
Staff at Camp Ashland gave Neal a cake, a stacking toy and socks wrapped in a blanket.
The family had traveled through Wuhan and decided it was the safest choice for their family to come to the United States.
No one staying at Camp Ashland has shown any signs for coronavirus.
Tyler, Neal's father, said ATMs were locked down as they tried to leave Wuhan and this has been an unexpected financial hit for his family. The flight out of China was $1100 per passenger.
They have set up a GoFundMe page to help with their expenses.
