Council Bluffs votes on school bond

A $37 million bond to renovate two middle schools in Council Bluffs went to voters Tuesday night, with 61 percent of in-person ballots being cast in favor of the bond, which needs 60 percent to pass.

Officials say there was enough absentee ballot to possibly change the outcome and the final tally will be released next week.

If approved, the borrowing would result in around $30 a year in additional property taxes.
