The community has raised more than enough money to equip Omaha firefighters and first responders with "bleeding and shock kits" in time for the College World Series.
Firefighter Dustin Talacko started the initiative to raise $25,000 for the kits, which include pressure dressings, tourniquets, decompression needles, and other devices.
Talacko says the rest of the money will go toward creating a kit for big events, like Berkshire Hathaway weekend.
"We should have enough left over to make a special operations/special events kit that will be utilized in the incident command unit," he said.
