The Fremont County Sheriff's Department is identifying the man found dead under the Highway 2 Missouri River bridge as 39-year-old Larry Eugene Burns II.
They say he died from blunt force trauma to the head caused by a fall. He also suffered from hypothermia.
Law enforcement says Burns was walking on the westbound shoulder of the Highway 2 bridge when the fall happened.
A group of hunters found Burns' body in the Waubonsie Access Wildlife Management Area on December 11th.
The Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner assisted the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation.
