OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) – A crowd of protesters gathered outside of city hall on Tuesday before a planned meeting there got underway.

The protesters were expressing their frustration with city leadership amid protests over the George Floyd death in Minnesota, and the fatal shooting of an Omaha man during Saturday's protests.

Protesters were peacefully standing outside Farnam Street holding up signs and chanting. The group wanted to make sure city leaders were listening to their pleas.

It got a little heated when Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert came outside to talk to the protesters. The group surrounded her and wanted to answer their questions.

“I support a peaceful protest and that’s what you’re doing. I’m here to tell you that,” she said. “You’ve got a lot of emotions and you feel like you’ve been betrayed. I’m here to tell you whatever I can do to help I will."
