A total of six tax-increment financing (TIF) projects totaling around $14 million were approved by the Omaha City Council Tuesday night.

More than half of that money, $7.8 million, went to the restoration of the Blackstone Hotel, which will have 204 rooms.

Additionally, $2.79 million will go to converting a Grace University building into an apartment complex. Three other housing complexes were part of the funding as well. A total of $1.8 million will go to building 36 houses and more than $685,000 will help reconstruct 12 condos damaged in the M's Pub fire.
