OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Game days for football fans look quite different right now. With Memorial Stadium off limits, Husker fans have had to find different ways to celebrate touchdowns.

"If we’re not down in Lincoln we absolutely come to DJ's Dugout no problem. Doesn’t matter if it’s this one or the one downtown," Mike Allenheim said.

Bars that used to be packed have now had to turn away customers to stay in compliance with capacity limitations amid the pandemic.

Josh Fryar, the bartender at DJ's Dugout, said before the coronavirus the restaurant used to be a hotspot during football games.

"This entire restaurant was packed. The bar was packed, all seats were full, we were at full capacity pretty much the entire game. It was a lot of fun, a fun atmosphere. It still is, just obviously at a reduced amount," Fryar said.

Fryar said that while their capacity is reduced, people are still trying to come in and watch the games.

Even though fans aren't able to watch games up close this year, spirits are still high for next season.

"I absolutely can’t wait. It’s going to be awesome. Can’t wait to get back down to Lincoln, it’s going to be great," Allenheim said.
