June 5, 2017: A mentally ill man, 29-year-old Zachary Bearheels, is killed after a struggle with officers because he refused to leave an OmahaBucky's.

June 5, 2017: Bearheels' mother says she told OPD her son had been kicked off a bus traveling from South Dakota to Oklahoma and he needed to be taken to a crisis center.

June 9, 2017: Officers release timeline of what happened ondayof Bearheels' death.

June 12, 2017: It is revealed officers did not have their body cameras turned on during the incident.

July 6, 2017: Coroner's report says Bearheels was tasered 12 times and died from "excited delirium."

July 20, 2017: Two of the four officers involved, Ryan McClarty and Scotty Payne are no longer with OPD, their firing was publicly recommended by Chief Todd Schmaderer.

July 26, 2017: Video shows McClarty and Payne repeatedly punching and using a taser on Bearheels. 

July 26, 2017: Omaha Police officers Ryan McClarty and Scotty Payne are charged for their roles in Bearheels' death. 

July 28, 2017: Scotty Payne turns himself in on second-degree assault charges. 

Feb. 8, 2018: Scotty Payne hastrialdate set for Nov. 26, 2018.

April 19, 2018: Ryan McClarty, who was charged with third-degree assault, hastrialdate set for January of 2019.

Aug. 16, 2018: Bearheels' mother sues the city and Omaha Police officers.

Nov. 26, 2018: Jury selection begins in trial of former OPD officer Scotty Payne

Dec. 10, 2018: Jury acquits Scotty Payne.
