The Creighton volleyball team heads into the NCAA Tournament with a school-record five all-conference selections including Brittany Witt. The sophomore was named the Big East Libero of the Year last week. Witt becomes just the 2nd CU player in program history to earn the award joining fellow Omaha Marian grad Julianne Mandolfo in 2011.

"It's a huge honor," said Witt. "I've been working really hard so it was good to be rewarded in that way. But just because I got it doesn't mean anything. I got to keep working hard and keep improving my own game."

"She's just a winner," said CU head coach Kirsten Bernthal Booth. "Brittany's special. The great thing is that she's good all the time but she almost gets better when there's more on the line and I love that about her."

The 9th seeded Jays open NCAA Tournament play Friday at home against Coastal Carolina starting at 7 p.m.
