LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) Although Nebraska head coach Scott Frost prefers playing just one quarterback in a game, he hasn't totally ruled out playing both Tristan Gebbia & Adrian Martinez in the season opener.

"Right now, if we had to play a game today, both guys deserve to play," Frost said following Friday's scrimmage inside Memorial Stadium. "They kind of take turns having really good days. Both of them continue to get better. Both of them are operating the offense well. And we're going to continue to let it play out from here forward."

While Frost said Martinez played better in Friday's scrimmage, he also said Gebbia had to deal with a few bad snaps that stalled drives and the players around the quarterbacks need to do their job.

"Gebbia's running it really well but his strength is his accuracy and his arm strength and his decision making in the passing game" Frost said. "Adrian throws it really well but he's a little better runner. So it really comes down to who's going to operate our offense most efficiently."

While Frost said Friday's scrimmage was better than last Sunday's, he still wants to see the Huskers take it to another level.

"When they hit the turf on Memorial Stadium, I want to see juice," said Frost. "It's on when you hit the turf and it should mean more when we're out there. I want it to feel like gameday when we're out there. The last three practices before this one our tempo has been hot. It's been great. And then we got out on the field and scrimmaged and it kind of slowed down. It's just a matter of taking the practice reps and the techniques to the field and falling back on our training from practice."

The Huskers will host their annual fan day on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
