Former UNO hockey standout Jake Guentzel scored the winning goal for the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final over the Nashville Predators on Monday night. The Penguins won, 5-3. Guentzel's goal came with less than four minutes remaining in the third period.
It was the former Mav's 10th playoff goal this season, which leads the NHL.

The Omaha native is now just one point away from tying the NHL record for points in a postseason by a U.S. born rookie, which was set by Joe Mullen in 1982 & equaled by Jeremy Roenick in 1990. Game two of the series is set for Wednesday in Pittsburgh.
