COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa. — A 21-year-old died after a car accident in Council Bluffs on Thursday.
Officers were dispatched to East Manawa Drive around 6:00pm. After arriving on scene, officers provided first-aid, using AED on the driver with major injuries. The driver was later transported to a local hospital where efforts to revive them were unsuccessful and they were pronounced dead.
The Council Bluffs Traffic Unit responded to the scene for an investigation, which is currently on-going.
Reports show 21-year-old Aryka Davis from Council Bluffs was traveling southbound on East Manawa Drive, losing control of the vehicle going around a curve, sliding sideways into on-coming traffic.
Davis' vehicle was then hit by a northbound SUV. The driver of the SUV has minor injuries. Both vehicles are a total loss.
