OMAHA (KMTV) — The NCAA Division I Council approved a proposal on Wednesday that would have the volleyball Final Four be played from April 23-25.
It is uncertain if that site would be in Omaha, although the city was scheduled to host the event in December before the COVID-19 pandemic forced it to be moved to the spring.
Also under the proposal, the NCAA Volleyball Tournament would only be 48 teams (32 conference champs, 16 at-large bids) as opposed to 64.
The volleyball regular season would go from January 22-April 10 with the selection show on April 11.
This proposal still needs to be approved by the NCAA Division I Board of Directors.
It is also uncertain if the Big Ten will play any volleyball matches in the fall after the conference announced on Wednesday that football games could start in late October.
