One person is dead after an accident between a Toyota Rav 4 and a Volkswagen Jetta on 96th and Harrison Thursday morning.

Police say the driver of the Rav 4, 34-year-old Luis Hernandez, did not stop at a red light, resulting in the collision.

The driver of the Jetta, 60-year-old Jose Gil-Rodriguez was pronounced dead shorty after arriving at Nebraska Medicine.

Hernandez is being treated for minor cuts on his leg.

There were no other passengers in either vehicle.

The crash is under investigation, but speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors.
