OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Omaha mayor Jean Stothert is reacting to the closure of a longtime restaurant following days of protests.
Our partners at the Omaha World-Herald report that Mayor Stothert launched an investigation into the protests before owners of the 11-Worth Cafe announced they would not re-open.
Dozens protested racially charged Facebook posts by the owner's son and took issue with a menu item named after Confederate general Robert E. Lee.
The owners said in a statement that their staff and customers were taunted and verbally abused.
