OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — On a Vinton Street corridor in South Omaha, you'll find Louie M's Burger Lust, best known for their exceptional burgers, big breakfast plates, and some of the best green chili in the metro.
Established in the early 1980s, the friendly neighborhood joint started as a catering business. The owner, Louis Marcuzzo would cook for local area daycares. After a few years, his kitchen turned into a meeting spot for some of his buddies.
"A couple years went by and his buddies started coming, and they wanted doughnuts so my dad got them doughtnuts. They wanted coffee so he got them coffee. They wanted eggs so he got them eggs, and throughout the years it sort of morphed into what it is now," said Manager Jack Marcuzzo, son of Louis Marcuzzo.
Many of the original 'buddies' still dine at the restaurant daily.
Every inch of Louie M's has a story. From local sports, military and South Omaha Italian roots, paintings, figurines, and momentos make the place a unique place to dine.
Beyond the unique, fun atmosphere, it's a place for regulars and foodies.
They specialize in burgers and breakfast plates. The chef says two of their most popular items are the Guacamole Burger and their Breakfast Burrito, which comes smothers in their famous green chili.
Their prices are 'reasonable' and 'comfortable' according to customers. Average daytime price is $8 while average nighttime price is $11.
