OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Some Nebraskan military families experienced a unique night of holiday cheer during a train ride through the state.

BNSF Railway paid tribute to the families of hundreds of military members and their families during its annual Holiday Express train trip.

The 90-minute ride started at the Omaha Amtrak station downtown. Families were able to take pictures with Santa before and after the ride.

Santa also gifted each of the 350 passengers a commemorative holiday ornament.

While on board, families were treated to special holiday snacks, a visit by Santa and rode in beautifully decorated rail cars.

At the end of the ride, the company went even further with their generosity and gave the Nebraska National Guard Foundation a check for $10,000.
