OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, awarded a contract to provide protection to the Glenwood/Pacific Junction water plant in Glenwood.
The contract, worth $990,402, was awarded to Advanced Trenching and Utilities to provide protection to the water plant and well head that provides water to the Glenwood/Pacific Junction area. The plant serves an approximate population of 6,000 people.
The Omaha District is continuing efforts to perform damage assessments as water recedes and access to levees become available. The district is conducting underwater surveys of scour holes along the Missouri and Platte rivers. There are more than 500 miles of levees on the Missouri, Platte, and Elkhorn Rivers that have experienced significant flood damage.
