OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The protests over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis while being taken into police custody are still making an impact across the country, including right here in Omaha.

We will learn later this week about actions the city will be taking in response to those protests. Several businesses were damaged and some raised questions about police tactics during the first five days of protests here.

On Thursday, Mayor Jean Stothert and Police Chief Todd Schmaderer will talk about what they've learned and some of the next steps for the city.
