OMAHA, NEB. (KMTV) — The Monster Club in Omaha's Old Market is the place to be on Halloween and for that spooky vibe year-round.
The restaurant, located near 13th and Howard Streets has a haunted castle set-up with a tribute to the horror-movie genre. Eerie music and movies play in the background as customers enjoy elevated pub food from their family-friendly menu.
The joint is decorated with real-sized horror-classic characters like Penny Wise, Dracula, Frankenstein, and Jason.
"It's definitely more museum than haunted house. That's really what we were going for. We didn't want anybody coming in here thinking there's going to be an actor coming to their table and interrupting their dinner, or that their kids would go to the bathroom with someone out and scaring them," said Neil Azevedo, spokesman for The Monster Club.
From the most intricate silverwear, to skulled-decorated chandeliers, the detail-oriented touches offer a creepy, yet cozy ambiance for all customers.
Not only do you get a unique dining experience, but their food goes above beyond typical bar food standards. Their meats are fresh and local and their sauces are made from scratch and exclusive to the pub.
"We're very burger friendly, but we're actually very vegan friendly as well," said Tony Mongello, general manager at The Monster Club. "We have food for the kids, as well as other items like salads, sandwiches, and wings."
Their signature cocktails, like the Witch's Brew, Dracula's Mule, The Mummy, and The Brains are all themed and come in unique glasses.
The place opened in June 2019 and took over the former O'Connor's space. It's owned by the same owners as Drastic Plastic, which is on the top floor of Monster Club
The Monster Club is family friendly until 9 p.m. After hours, the pub is open to 21+ only.
