OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A Republic Airways flight operating as United Express returned to Eppley Airfield on Monday afternoon shortly after takeoff due to landing gear issues.

The plane departed Omaha for Newark and developed a landing gear problem shortly after departure. This happened around 1:02 p.m. and the plane landed about an hour later, able to taxi itself like a normal plane.

Jon Austin, a spokesman for Republic Airways, said the following in a statement:

"Republic Airways flight 3605, operating as United Express from Omaha to Newark, returned to Omaha shortly after takeoff to investigate a landing gear indicator message. The flight landed without incident and our passengers are transferring to another aircraft to complete their travel. We apologize to our customers for the delay in their travels."

There were 64 passengers and four crew members on the plane.
