OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Hundreds strapped on the skates at Skatedaze's last day of business on Sunday.

Scott Cernik's family spent the past 70 years in the Nebraska skating business.
He hopes someone else will keep a skating business in the area.

"We've been working with a couple groups in Omaha and I'm not sure what's going to happen with that yet, and there's a group in Lincoln that's looking at possibly doing something there. So, we're working with them to put something together but nothing is concrete yet," Cernik said.

Skatedaze will auction off equipment and memorabilia at its 132nd and B location and online on April 16th and 17th.
Midwest Laboratories will take over the property May 1st.
