OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A sixteen-year-old boy suffered a life-threatening head injury after being struck by a Jeep late Sunday night.
Officers were dispatched to the area of S 42nd and Spring St for a personal injury crash at at 11:45 p.m. Sunday.
Investigation revealed a 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee was northbound on S 42nd St in the right curb lane when a bicyclist traveling southbound entered the roadway mid-block from the east sidewalk and was struck by the Jeep.
The sixteen-year-old bicyclist was transported to Nebraska Medicine with a life-threatening head injury, police say.
Juana Mendez, 52, was identified as the Jeep driver.
