GAGE COUNTY, Neb. (KMTV) - A sixth person has died from the coronavirus in Nebraska.
The latest victim is a woman in her 90s with multiple underlying health conditions, according to Public Health Solutions. The woman was a resident of an assisted living facility in Gage County.
The woman was hospitalized and passed away on Tuesday. The health department received confirmatory lab results a day later.
“We are deeply saddened to report a death in our district. Our entire team at PHS extends our sympathy to the family and friends of this individual," said Kim Showalter, Public Health Solutions Health Director.
Public Health Solutions has begun an investigation to determine how the patient became exposed to the virus.
