Douglas County Health Department reports 128 new COVID-19 cases; lowest number since October

The health department reported 128 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday for a total of 47,197 cases.

According to the Douglas County Health Department dashboard, this is the lowest number of cases reported in a day since Oct. 12.

Four additional deaths were also reported involving three men and one woman.

The number of deaths connected to the pandemic in the county now totals 405.

The health department says 23,986 residents have recovered from COVID-19.

According to the most recent hospital report, medical and surgical beds are at 78 percent occupancy with 335 available beds.

Adult ICU beds are occupied at a 75 percent rate with 83 beds available.

There are 362 individuals hospitalized who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 with 117 of them getting adult ICU level care.

Additionally, there are 31 more persons of interest (generally waiting for test results). Forty-five people who were confirmed or suspected of having COVID-19 were on ventilators.
