DES MOINES, Iowa (KMTV) — On Thursday, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds and other officials held a coronavirus breifing.
The governor started off with an update on the validation process of TestIowa results, which was completed yesterday.
Reynolds said the tests showed a 95% accuracy rating in detecting positive cases and a 99% accuracy rating in detecting negative cases.
Based on the findings, Reynolds says testing can be increased to about 5,000 per day between TestIowa and the State Hygienic Lab.
The latest case numbers out of Iowa:
- 386 new cases for a total of 13,675 total cases
- 12 new deaths for a total of 318 total deaths to date
- 6,231 recovering
- 405 currently hospitalized
