OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - In the midst of the pandemic we are seeing amazing things being done by people to make our lives better and happier right now.

Some UNMC students have formed a new group that will bring sweet sounds to local care facilities. It's called Musicians for Healing.

The goal is to help with the stress of social distancing, especially with those who can't get out. The group played at Aksarben Village on Thursday.

“I want to contribute to anything that I can with [the] coronavirus crisis, but I know the best place for me to contribute isn't in the hospital right now, so if I can do something for my community that is helpful to them and to my fellow med students, then that's an important contribution I am willing to take on,” said UNMC student Natasha Hongsermeier-Graves.

About 25 students are part of Musicians for Healing.
