OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A 6-year-old boy and a 27-year-old man were left with non-life threatening injuries after an early Saturday shooting.
Around 5 a.m., officers responded to the area of 93rd and Maplewood Blvd where they located Fabian Jefferson, 27, and the 6-year-old boy with apparent gunshot injuries.
Both victims were transported to the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Jefferson, and the boy's mother, Michelle Sides, 37, were both arrested. Jefferson is accused of shooting the boy, and Sides is accused of child abuse.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Anyone with information should contact Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402-444-STOP. Both Jefferson and Sides are being held at the Douglas County Corrections Center.
