On Sunday, Aldi announced it was investing more than $10 million into enhancing six stores in Omaha.
The money is part of a $1.6 billion plan by the grocery chain to remodel 1,300 of its stores nationwide by 2020.
The goal is to complete all of the Omaha-area remodels — including the new ALDI store located at 3135 Manawa Center Drive in Council Bluffs — by 2019.
According to a release, the new Aldi designs will be modern with open ceilings and natural light. As for the food, Aldi says it will focus on fresh items, like produce, dairy, and bakery sections.
