Bicyclist hurt in collision with car

Posted

A 55-year-old man was injured when his bicycle collided with a Buick early Monday near 80th and Pacific streets.

The bicyclist was traveling north across Pacific Street at 80th Street when he was hit by an eastbound driver, according to an Omaha Police press release. The man was taken to Bergan Mercy by an Omaha Fire rescue squad, the release states.

Excessive speed and alcohol use did not cause the accident, OPD said, but sun glare may have been a contributing factor.

The driver of the 2002 Buick Century was not injured.

The crash is under investigation.
