PLATTSMOUTH, Neb. (KMTV) — An athletic trainer who worked with student athletes at Plattsmouth High School is being investigated for providing alcohol to minors, according to Superintendent Dr. Richard Hasty.
Dr. Hasty says the following was shared with parents via the district's direct messaging system:
Good evening. Today, Plattsmouth High School (PHS) administration received information that our athletic trainer for our student-athletes that is an employee of a contracted service provider, and not an employee of PCS, provided alcohol to minors. Upon investigation by PHS administration and law enforcement, the person in question admitted to providing alcohol to minors. The person will no longer be working with students in our district. The contracted service provider has been notified of the situation. PHS administration has been in contact with the parents of the minors. Law enforcement is also following up on the matter. We will continue to focus on keeping a safe and secure environment for our students. Thank you for your support of the Plattsmouth Community Schools.
Dr. Hasty tells KMTV the Cass County Sheriff's Office is handling the situation and the school district will make no further comment as the investigation continues and is handled in the legal system.
