PAPILLION, Neb. (KMTV) - Sarpy County prosecutors are filing charges as a result of Wednesday night's deadly crash on Highway 50 near Riha Road south of Springfield.
22 year old Paige Seaton faces felony motor vehicle homicide and DUI causing serious injury. Seaton remains at Nebraska Medicine where she is being treated for serious injuries she sustained in the crash. She will be booked into the Sarpy County Jail once she's released.
Prosecutors say Seaton was headed northbound on Highway 50 and crossed the center line, hitting a southbound car driven by Elisa Linscott nearly head on. Her daughter, 15 year old Alexandra Lindscott died at the scene. Elisa Linscott was flown to Nebraska Medicine with critical injuries After the crash, a Sarpy County Deputy found an open alcohol container in Seaton's car, and her blood alcohol level was .18. Deputies also say a motorist had called 911 to report a reckless driver heading northbound on Highway 50 just before the crash.
Seaton was convicted of a prior DUI in Douglas County in May and was on probation at the time of the crash.
