COUNCIL BLUFFS POLICE DEPARTMENT — The Council Bluffs Police Department is asking for help in identifying two suspects, one of whom brandished a gun during a robbery.

Police say a couple entered a Bomgaars, located at 2803 East Kanesville, just before noon where the man was observed concealing merchandise on his person. While they were at the checkout, paying for some other items, a loss prevention specialist approached the two to confront them about the shoplifted items.

At this point, police say the man pulled out a gun and told the employee to leave him alone before he and the female suspect exited the store and made off in a black SUV with stolen Iowa plate ARE008.

Police provided the following descriptions, "The suspects are described as a white male, with reddish-colored facial hair, and a white female, both in their late 20s or 30s."

Police say you should not approach the two and instead call 9-1-1 as they are considered armed and dangerous. You can also contact Council Bluffs detectives at 712-328-4728 or you can remain anonymous by calling 712-328-STOP (7867).
