DOUGLAS COUNTY, Neb. (KMTV) — The Douglas County Health Department says multiple people have tested positive for a bacteria that causes tuberculosis.
Health officials tested 31 people after an individual with tuberculosis visited the state. Thirteen of them are now receiving treatment to prevent them from getting tuberculosis.
The health department is still investigating if anyone else might have contracted the bacteria.
KMTV checked with the Sarpy/Cass County Health Department and they are monitoring two people who have tuberculosis. They tell us it's not unusual for them to monitor tuberculosis cases.
