Early Monday crash leaves one dead, another injured

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Omaha Police are investigating after an early Monday crash left one dead and another critically injured.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 1:30 a.m. near I-480 and Leavenworth.

Police say a 2007 Chevy Malibu driven by 42-year-old Ray Sutton was traveling on I-480 southbound in the far left lane.

Just north of Leavenworth, a 2016 Lincoln MK-Z driven by 23-year-old Joshua Seaman was traveling the wrong way (northbound in southbound lanes).

According to police, the Lincoln struck the Chevy nearly head on.

Sutton was pronounced dead at the scene while Seaman was transported to Nebraska Medicine.

Southbound lanes of I-480 were closed down until 5:30 a.m.
