Early morning crash leaves one person with head injury

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — An early morning crash left one person with a head injury near 16th and Nicholas Street this morning.

Around 6:15 a.m., officers were called to a crash involving a pedestrian. A 2016 freightliner semi hooked up to an empty trailer to go load it with grain. When the driver of the trailer pulled away, it struck an intoxicated party who had been sleeping underneath it. The victim was transported to Nebraska Medicine. He suffered a severed ear, but the injury is considered non life-threatening.

The victim was identified as 41-year-old Edward Prange, and the driver has been identified as 54-year-old Gerald Davis.

This crash is under investigation.
