OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The office of Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert says they've appointed a familiar face to act as the city's Human Resources Director.

Out of three finalists supplied by the Personnel Board, Deborah Sander was selected to be the new Director of Human Resources.

Sander held positions in the City of Omaha Finance and Human Resources Departments for 28 years before retiring last year.

“Deb has made substantial contributions over more than two decades working for the City of Omaha. She has excellent credentials in finance, hiring and training, technology, employment and pension policies,” said Mayor Stothert. “I am excited to welcome Deb back. Her experience is an asset to the City of Omaha, the taxpayers and our employees.”

Sander's salary will be $162,000 and she starts on October 21. She will be required to pay back pension payments already received.
