OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Exercise Coach just opened in West Omaha. They say their business is the perfect model for these turbulent times, and they are successful because their high tech, smart fitness studio, takes the guess work out of working out.

The Exercise Coach is a by-appointment-only studio and only ever have just a few people inside at a time.

What sets them apart? They use computers and robots instead of dumbbells and treadmills.

"The equipment will learn your ability and adjust to your strengths and weaknesses, customizing a workout that is just right for you," said owner Sommer Hahn. "It gives you real-time, immediate feedback as you are doing your exercise set, which allows our coaches to make sure that every second you are in our studio is maximized."

Each person has a code they punch in, and the machine adjusts the workout to each person's strengths and weaknesses in real-time.

"So there is a lot of tension when you're pushing and pulling," said coach Blair Benton. "You feel it in your abs when you are crunching; it's a great workout for your arms and abs."

You only have to workout two times a week, and each workout is just 20 minutes.

How does is compare to an hour-long workout? The big difference is that your muscles are always engaged, pushing yourself to reach your maximum heart rate.

"It eliminates the downtime that sometimes occurs in a traditional gym environment, where you have to guess which weight is most appropriate to maximize your effort.," said Hahn.

Hahn says it's perfect for people who don't traditionally like going to the gym, and for those busy people who don't have a lot of time to spend at the gym.

Sommer says this is the only high-tech fitness studio in the state.

They concentrate on strength training. They are offering everyone two free, personal-training sessions to try them out.
