GRETNA, Neb. (KMTV) - AT&T is partnering with Forged Fiber 37 to bring fiber internet service to Gretna and 11 other states for the first time in the area.
Gretna City Hall approved the fiber installation project, which will roll out in three phases: pre-construction, construction, and restoration. Residents will receive notification 7 to 14 days before construction begins in their area.
City leaders say they want the process to go smoothly, pointing to complaints from homeowners in Omaha where a different company installed lines.
Mayor Evans addressed concerns residents may have about the work.
"I think everybody goes through shock when people show up on your lawn and they're doing a lot of work and obviously people care about that," Evans said.

"We are really excited about stepping out of the traditional AT&T fiber footprint and into these states," the AT&T vice president said.
