An inmate has died from suspicious circumstances at Tecumseh State Correctional Institution.
TSCI received notification Wednesday from the Johnson County coroner that the medical staff at Bryan West would begin the process to remove inmate, Terry Berry from life support.
According to the coroner, the actual date of death will be noted on the death certificate as Monday, April 17, the day he was declared legally brain dead by doctors.
The removal of life support or organ donation was made by Berry's next-of-kin.
Berry's death comes after he was found unresponsive in his cell Saturday, April 15th just before 8 p.m.. His cellmate alerted staff members who immediately began performing CPR.
The Nebraska State Patrol is conducting a criminal investigation into Berry's death.
