OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — As the chaos in the capitol began to calm down, there were prayers for peace being offered right here in Omaha.
The Tri-Faith Initiative organized a vigil to pray for the country, which was held on Zoom, Facebook and YouTube.
The vigil included short talks, music and prayers by Christian, Muslim, and Jewish leaders.
Several talked about the importance of unity during times like these.
"It will take all of us together to determine how we will move forward from this, one of our darkest days," said Rabbi Deanna Sussman Berezin with Temple Israel.
One of the speakers talked about working in the capitol and offered a special prayer for his former co-workers.
